Dr. Nadgie Ortiz-Diaz is an enthusiastic and energetic dual trained pediatric and dentist anesthesiologist. She received her dental degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 1999. Following dental school, she continued her dental education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she completed studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Nadgie Ortiz-Diaz is an enthusiastic and energetic dual trained pediatric and dentist anesthesiologist. She received her dental degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 1999. Following dental school, she continued her dental education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she completed studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Through these formative years, she was driven by her interest in pediatric dentistry, which led her to complete the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry at University of Puerto Rico in 2002. Her varied experiences with pediatric and special needs patients instilled the desire to provide comprehensive state-of-the-art dental care with compassion and excellence. In order to accomplish her vision, in 2004 Dr. Ortiz-Diaz completed a residency in Dental Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. This training has given her the opportunity to provide dental care access to patients with anxiety disorders or medical complex conditions that would otherwise exclude them from receiving necessary dental treatment.
Since 2004, Dr. Ortiz-Diaz has worked at her private practice in Puerto Rico and as a faculty member of the University of Puerto Rico. From 2004-2010, She coordinated the didactic and clinical component for the sedation course of the Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a diplomate for both specialties, and maintains membership in the National Board of Dentist Anesthesiologists and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ortiz-Diaz has spoken at national and local scientific dental meetings, located within the United States and Puerto Rico. She and her husband, Danny, enjoy spending their spare time with family and friends.
