DR. JAMES SNYDER: Medicine has stopped doing surgery without anesthesia, and with local anesthesia only now for more than half a century. And the reason they stopped doing it was that not only are the patients more comfortable, they discovered a very interesting phenomenon. And that is that pain is not inherently good for you, and that if people are not in pain they're more cooperative and compliant. So a GIP patient and general anesthesia is the ultimate pain free comfortable person completely without resistance and totally compliant. The surgeons are now free to do not only whatever surgery they had in mind, but they can be incredibly more creative. Quality of surgery goes up, the ability of surgeons goes up. Dentistry has the opportunity to do the same thing, but has to be willing to embrace the tool of modern pain and anxiety control in order to achieve those objectives.
MS. MARINA ARMISTEAD: I don't believe in recommending either doctors or dentists unless I'm positive that I know what I'm talking about. And I say, if you're scared, if you have sensitive teeth, if Novocain doesn't work on you, go to Dr. Snyder.
MR. FRANK LANCETTI: The way everybody did what is expected of him or her impressed me. Because part of the anxieties is driven by uncertainty, and I could see that all that took place was under control, and also the explanations that was provided by Dr. Snyder were reassuring and enlightening.
DR. HUGH CAMPBELL: When you send a patient with Dr. Snyder that patient has 100 percent guarantee that these procedures are going to be done, and it's going to be pain free. So that's end of story as far as I'm concerned, when we have some people who, you know, if that's the issue for them, there's no need in messing around. You send them to the best person that you can, and that's Dr. Snyder.
MS. VIVIAN STIEHM: I'm very happy with him, and I would recommend him to anybody. Everyone that asks me now, you know, how you feeling? I say, I'm feeling really good because of Dr. Snyder, if you need a dentist you need to go and see him.
MS. RONNIE SHORENSTEIN: When you have a handicapped child, it's not like going in and out to a dentist. It's different because they need help, and they need a lot of medical help, and they need a lot of special things. And so when 99.99 percent of the dentists can't provide this and you find someone who provides it, you're very grateful.
DR. ALAN GOLDEN: I have three rules about treatment. First, do no harm. Second, remember the first. And the third is try to do some good while you're there. And my criteria, my important criteria are all met here.
